Private Instruction

I have taught classical tenor and bass trombone for four years. I have also coached chamber ensembles and directed trombone choir and jazz band. I teach orchestral excerpts, solo repertoire, All-State etudes, and more. I am also very interested in embouchure mechanics and may be able to help you if you are fighting with your chops (this is better achieved in person).

I also teach jazz improvisation to all horns, although I specialize in trombone. I break down improvisation in ways that are both digestible for beginning improvisers and challenging for experienced jazz musicians. Ear training and music theory are important facets of my jazz lessons, so you can expect to make huge strides in your musicianship in addition to developing as an improviser.

I teach middle school, high school, and undergraduate students of all levels and genres. I am comfortable with in-person and online modalities, so let me know which works best for you! Use this contact form to get started.
